Celebrating the 78th Indonesian Independence Day
In August 2023 we celebrated the 78th Indonesian Independence Day. In every house and building, Indonesia’s flag was raised on top of the pole and colourful pennants decorated every corner. During the month, citizens throughout the country celebrated the anniversary of Indonesian Independence Day by flag-raising, competitions, and festivals.
In SDK IBC, we celebrated the Indonesian Independence Day by holding competitions for students and teachers on Friday, August 25th. All students and teachers were wearing red and white cloth, the colour of Indonesia’s flag. Even though it was raining, it didn’t stop the celebration. The location, which was initially set on the field, had to be moved to the school lobby. Some games had to be modified to suit the location. Everyone could still enjoy and had a lot of fun with the games. The games were passing flag, passing marble, throwing ball, putting nail into bottle, eating kerupuk, sarong-balloon, and tug of war. All participants got presents for playing the games.
